Experience the breathtaking Mackinac Bridge like never before! Join us for the 3rd annual "Ruck the Bridge" event on September 2, 2024, and be a part of an unforgettable adventure. The M.O.W. Ruckers invite you to join them for an epic event that will challenge and excite you. Unlike the traditional Mackinac Bridge Walk, the "Ruck the Bridge" event is a fun and challenging ruck that will leave you with a lifetime of memories. This is a once-a-year opportunity to feel the energy and excitement of the Mackinac Bridge in a unique way. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a M.O.W. Ruckers member or not. So, gather your friends and family and join us for an experience like no other! Take advantage of this chance to create unforgettable memories on the magnificent Mackinac Bridge.
When/Where
Get ready to join us for the Ruck the Bridge event! We'll meet on the South side of the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City from 6:00 am to 6:45 am sharp to hand out patches. The Ruck will kick off at 7 am, so arrive on time!
Since the Mackinac Bridge Walk is a popular event, securing accommodation can take time and effort. We suggest making a weekend out of it and booking your hotel room early to avoid disappointment. You might stay an hour or more away from Mackinaw City without a prior reservation. So, plan ahead, and make the most of your Ruck the Bridge experience!
The Challenge
Distance: 10 miles (Double Crossing 5 miles each way)
Weight Recommendations: 10lbs if you are under 150lbs, 20lbs if you are over 150lbs
Variations to challenge yourself: Carry your Ruck with just your water or Add more weight
Time : up to 5 hours to complete this challenge. Starts a 7am need to be off the bridge by noon.

Required items:
Dress for weather
Ruck Plate, 10 or 20 lbs (or equivalent)
Rucksack
Reflective Ruck Bands (or equivalent) on your rucksack
Smartphone with external battery
Water
Recommended items:
Source Hydration Bladder, 3L
Nalgene bottle
One extra pair of socks
Waterproof bag

The Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Bridge walk is a free event open to the Public
There is a fee for the Ruck portion of this event to cover the cost of patches and other organizational cost.

Where to Park for the Mackinac Bridge Walk
Mackinaw City
Parking for the Annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk is available along the streets in Mackinac City. You can also head to the Shepler’s Ferry Docks. For $20, bridge walkers who would like to park close to the Mackinac Bridge and start their walk from Mackinaw City may park in Lot 3 for $20 CASH ONLY per vehicle. Shepler’s guests, who are traveling to Mackinac Island or St. Ignace on Labor Day (must show valid ticket), may either park for free in Lot 1 at 311 S. Nicolet St. Mackinaw City or pay $20 to park in Lot 3 close to the Mackinac Bridge start. Parking is limited, and no advanced reservations will be accepted.
St. Ignace
You can find free parking at Bridge View Park, located at W69 Boulevard Dr, St Ignace, MI 49781. Bridge View Park is located directly on the west side of the bridge. Parking is also available at Little Bear East Arena, 275 Marquette St, St Ignace, MI 49781, about two miles from the Mackinac Bridge. PLEASE NOTE: In past years there has been a shuttle service to and from the Arena to the bridge, but that shuttle service has stopped. You will have to find your own transportation from the parking lot to the bridge and back.
Stay at a Hotel in Mackinaw City, St. Ignace or on Mackinac Island
If you choose to stay at a hotel in Mackinaw City or in St. Ignace, you’ll be able to leave your car in the lot. You can also choose to stay in a hotel on Mackinac Island and take a Shepler’s or Star Line ferry to one of the starting lines. Round trip tickets are available, contact the ferry services for more detailed information on times and ticket prices.
